At 20, I discovered the world of sailing, and the oceans. These immense blue expanses on the maps turned out to be places where millions of living beings coexist, organize themselves, kill each other, symbiose and evolve.

To tour on a sailing boat is to be part of this world of the seas, to be its observers and actors on a small scale, to let oneself be imbued with the issues, the stories, the people and the creatures of the oceans, to go and play in the small bistros facing the sea, and to share a music that is said to be not very accessible, but that the sea spray makes more understandable by all those who are used to feel it on their faces.

It is also about going through different paths, those of sailing boats, those paths that are not the same depending on the direction of the wind, and playing in villages that the earth path have not connected to music in the same way. It is playing for ears, different from those of the big cities and composing music that belongs to the sea coasts.

And finally, it is experiencing a rhythm from another time. A slow life where we don't master time, and in which we share its flow collectively. Music is created by these musicians who agree to take part in the game of slowness and discovery, who agree to move the boat forward day and night, to be salty and wet and to let opportunities pass by playing cards with 5 in the boat, while waiting for the storm to pass.

In 2022, Benoît Gautier and Mona Creisson begin a series of musical tours on a sailing boat : La Limule, a 13m50, 3 beds, with a mast and enough space for a double bass.

La Limule transported 4 series of musicians along the Atlantic coasts.
